Agricultural Information Institute of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (AII-CAAS) is a national nonprofit research institution with agricultural information technology innovation and services as its mission. We are mainly focused on five fields, i.e. research and application of key agricultural information technologies, research on agricultural macro strategy and construction of national high-end think tank, library and information services, informatization and network support services for scientific research, and journal publishing and information dissemination. AII-CAAS hosts two national-level platforms: the National Agricultural Science Data Center and the National Science and Technology Library and Information Center Agricultural Branch. It also operates four ministerial key laboratories, including the Key Laboratory of Agricultural Monitoring and Early Warning Technology of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA), the Key Laboratory of Agricultural Big Data of MARA, the Key Laboratory of Agricultural Integrated Publishing Knowledge Mining and Knowledge Services of National Press and Publication Administration, and the Key Laboratory of Blockchain Agricultural Applications of MARA. Many efforts have been made to improve our capabilities of innovation and public welfare service, including cooperation with numerous research institutions and universities worldwide as well as international organizations, eg., FAO, IFPRI, CABI, Wageningen University & Research, Rothamsted Research, etc. In 2016, CAAS established the Center for International Agricultural Research (attached to AII), which has also achieved fruitful results in supporting government decision-making, promoting agricultural technology going global, participating in global agricultural technology governance, and capacity building of international talents.
